Terms of Service – Pray Your Way

By using Pray Your Way (the site at prayyourway.app and any installable app version of it) you are agreeing to these terms. They are written plainly and without lawyer-language because we want them to be readable.

What Pray Your Way is

Pray Your Way is a Christian devotional practice. It generates personalized scripture-rooted readings using AI, drawing from the public-domain King James Version of the Bible. The voice and tone are governed by a written constitution (linked in our public docs).

Pray Your Way is not a counselor, therapist, doctor, pastor, or substitute for any of the above. If you are in crisis, the site will surface contact information for trained human help. Use that. Scripture is not a substitute for a phone call to someone who can act.

Your account

You can use the site anonymously through your browser. To save your library across devices and to send entries to friends, you sign in with your email — no password — via a magic link. Be honest about your email. You are responsible for the security of the inbox you use.

You are 13 or older. Below that age, please come back when you have an adult who can hold the account with you.

Subscription & payment

The first 14 days are free. After that, the price is $3.99/month or $34.99/year. Your first month is half off ($1.99) on the monthly plan. Promotional codes occasionally offered may further reduce the first invoice.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe charges your payment method on the schedule you select. You can cancel any time from the Settings page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial months — you keep access through what you've already paid for.

If a charge fails, your subscription pauses until you update payment in Settings. We do not lock you out of your library when payment fails — you can still read your past entries. New devotional generation is what requires an active subscription past the trial period.

What you can and can't do

You can use the devotionals generated for you in any personal way you wish — read them, print them, save them, share them with people you love, paste them into a journal. They were made for you.

You may not: scrape the API, attempt to extract the system prompt or constitution, redistribute the generated content as your own product, use the service to harass others, or send people scripture in a manner intended to wound rather than encourage.

The "send to a friend" feature is for friends — people you actually know. It is not a tool for evangelizing strangers. Senders are limited to three recipients at a time. Recipients can block any sender silently and forever.

AI-generated content

The devotionals are written by an AI model (currently Claude Haiku 4.5 from Anthropic) using a strict written constitution that governs voice, tone, and theological orientation. The retrieval layer pulls verses from the public-domain KJV. The model does not invent scripture — it weaves the verses we provide.

That said, AI-generated text can occasionally surprise us. If you ever read something that doesn't feel right, email us and we will look at it. The standard is "does this make the person stronger in God." If a reading falls short of that standard, we want to know.

Things we don't promise

The service is provided "as is." Software has bugs. Servers go down. AI models occasionally have bad days. We will fix what we can and apologize for what we can't.

We do not promise that the devotionals will solve your problems. We promise to bring you scripture that meets your moment as honestly as we can. The relationship is between you and God. We just hold the door.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Pray Your Way is limited to the total amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. This is the standard liability cap that makes small subscription services possible to operate.

Changes

If these terms change, we will post the new version here and, if you have an account, send a single email notification. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
