Privacy Policy

Pray Your Way is a daily devotional practice. Your relationship with God is between you and Him. The role of this site is to be a door, not a recorder. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.

What we collect

If you use the site without signing in: a single browser cookie called pyw_visitor that holds a random ID. It lets your devotionals stay tied to your browser between visits. It is not a tracking cookie. It contains no personal information. It expires in 10 years or whenever you clear browser data.

If you sign up with email: we store your email address (so you can sign in across devices) and a hash of a magic-link token (so you can be authenticated without a password). That's it.

When you generate a devotional: we save the moods, struggles, posture, time of day, and free-text "on my heart" note you provided, along with the resulting devotional, to a database tied to your account. This is your library. You can export or delete it any time from Settings.

When you subscribe: Stripe handles all payment information. We never see your card number, CVC, or expiry. We store only your Stripe customer ID and your subscription status (active / canceled / etc.) so we know whether to keep your access open.

What we share

The text of your intake (mood + struggle + posture + note) is sent to Anthropic (the AI model that writes your devotional) as part of generating the entry. Anthropic does not retain or train on this data per their commercial terms. We do not pass any account-identifying information (your email, name, location) to Anthropic — only the intake itself.

Payment data flows through Stripe. Stripe's privacy practices govern that data on their side. We never touch it.

Email magic links flow through whatever email provider this site uses (currently the WordPress hosting mail server; subject to change). Only your email address is sent.

That is the entire list. We do not sell, rent, lease, lend, or otherwise commercialize your data. We do not run advertising. We do not use third-party analytics that profile you. We do not put pixels on the page that report your reading behavior to anyone.

What we will never do

• Sell your data, ever, for any reason.
• Use your devotionals or reflections to train AI models without explicit, granular, revocable consent.
• Show advertising of any kind, anywhere on the site or in the app.
• Tell senders whether their entries were read by recipients.
• Tell a blocked sender that they have been blocked.
• Surface patterns we have detected in your behavior outside the look-back room (where only you can open the door).

Your rights

You can export your full library as JSON at any time from Settings → Your data. The file is yours to keep, archive, or move elsewhere.

You can delete your account and all associated entries at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent. Subscription cancellation can be done independently from the same page.

You can request any specific data by emailing shawnhwp@gmail.com. We will respond within seven days.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in any material way, we will post the change here and, if you have an email on file, send you a single notification. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
